TOKYO —
Two of eigoTown.com’s Classic Story Series audio books have been included in Apple’s “Best of 2009” selection on the iTunes stores. The audio books—which cost 300 yen—each include three classic stories.
The first book selected contains “The Three Little Pigs”, “Jack and the Beanstalk” and “The Ugly Duckling”, and the second has “Sleeping Beauty”, “The Little Mermaid” and “Puss in Boots”. Each story was specially re-written for Japanese students and eigoTown provides a transcript and glossary of key vocabulary.
Russell Willis, president of eigoTown.com, said: “This is the second year running we have been included in the “Best of…” by Apple and obviously we’re delighted. These stories are timeless and are hugely popular with students. I hope foreigners in Japan will consider recommending these audio books to their Japanese friends and students.”
The audio books can be downloaded from iTunes and more information can be found on eigoTown’s website. Information is in Japanese.

"Apple includes eigoTown.com audio books as Best of 2009" would be a more accurate headline.

These are fairytales for kids. And where are the real books and the poetry?
