Farewell Mr Falk. You gave me and will continue to give me hundreds of hours of entertainment. If there is a heaven, I'd say right about now, you are pestering St Peter and asking him "What did you pay for the shoes?"

“Ahhh, there’s just one more thing…” - I'd like to imagine those were his last words. Sleep well, funny man.

I think of Columbo whenever I watch Aibou. The Sugishita character always says, " Mo hitotsu dake". Those words are bound to frustrate criminals in both Japanese & English. R.I.P. Lt. Columbo

CrazyJoe - Frank? I thought we never found out his first name?

Ivan, it was written Frank Columbo on his warrent card that is seen in a few odd episodes. But despite that, it was never actually said and I think that the intention was that it should not be known.

    RIP Mr Falk.

I loved his acting and he'll be missed.
“Ahhh, there’s just one more thing…” was usually followed by. "I was wondering.... " or "I was thinking..." One of the greats. RIP

I just started my Columbo DVD festival last night. The shows hold up remarkably well, despite the 1970s cars and fashions. Just proves that good storytelling never goes out of date.

The first star I ever saw, driving into LA on 101 for my first visit to Hollywood 30 years ago. The traffic was at a crawl, and a Mercedes convertible with the top down pulls next to us. I look over and see a dapper looking guy with an open collar short and a healthy tan. His arm was resting on the door. It was Colombo, but he looked very bit the movie star. I commented to the driver, "Hey, it's Colombo." Falk looked over, gave us a genuine looking smile and a wave as the traffic moved on.
