Fuji Television has hosted another successful semifinal round of judging of the International Emmys that took place at its main headquarters on June 30. This is Fuji TV’s fourth consecutive year to host the prestigious event, this year for the drama series category.

A selected panel of 12 TV experts from four countries and two regions, consisting of industry elites in Asia, viewed and critiqued eight drama entries. It took the panel eight hours of intensive judging to evaluate the selected dramas.

Mamiko Maekawa, senior executive director with Fuji Television International, said: “We are extremely proud and delighted to, once again and for the fourth consecutive year, participate in an event as prestigious as the International Emmy Awards, which recognizes excellence in television productions. The occasion allows us to recognize superb creativity from around the globe, which in turn is an ideal incentive to further broaden our own perspectives.”

Juror Yoko Narahashi, president of United Performers Studio (USA), said: "Lots of great programs, enjoyed the day very much. Becoming an international juror is very enlightening to anyone in the entertainment business.”

Li Kuo Lee, the chief program director at Taiwan Television Enterprise, added: “Such a wonderful experience. International Emmys is the highest award for overseas TV and I am honored to be here, such a memorable moment.”

The final round and the announcement of nominees for each category will take place in September this year. The International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences will reveal the winners during the 44th Annual International Emmy Awards presentation in New York in November.
