I had only thought of Russell as a whirlwind, passionate about what he is doing of course. It is a wonderful revelation to learn that he thinks about all the aspects of the business.

“It won’t come as any surprise to you, but I’m completely comfortable when all the creative decisions are mine,” says Crowe.

My sister-in-law said Crowe was particularly strict - she was his production manager on this film.

Watching Mr. Crowe in past films, I got the feeling that he was acting while trying to see the big picture, from the director's viewpoint. This latest experience, of actually doing the directing, may make him an even better actor.
