Intersting that below part was removed from the original report, though it shows how much another hot Japanese topic is influencing the american language:

This book is a Toyota,” said Robert S. Norris, the author of “Racing for the Bomb” and an atomic historian. “The publisher should recall it, issue an apology and fix the parts that endanger the historical record.”

“Mr Pellegrino will eliminate Mr Fuoco from the appendix, statements about his career after the war, his memories of Hiroshima, the illustration of his flight goggles and any specific references to Mr Fuoco being on the Hiroshima mission of `Necessary Evil,’” Holt said in a statement.

That's almost as thoughtful as correcting that some SS prison guard didn't actually work for Auschwitz, an institution of 'necessary evil"

Or Neo-Nazis having a long debate about whether an Auschwitz guard who fell to his death from a watchtower was murder or an accident. It's depressing to see that it's not just fellow Japanese nationalists who stubbornly deny their wrongdoings but it's the same for any perp around the world.
