Heads up, "One Piece" fans – there’s a new, extra-special anniversary episode coming your way that’ll fill in some of the blanks from the time jump.

To commemorate the 15th anniversary of popular anime "One Piece," a brand new episode will air on Fuji TV’s Fuji Premium network next month. The title is "One Piece ’3D2Y’ Overcoming the death of Ace! Luffy’s gang’s vow" with an X crossing out the 3D, which is kind of difficult to show in text. (This is an unofficial translation. The Japanese title is "One Piece ’3D2Y’ Ace no Shi wo Koete! Luffy Nakama tono Chikai.")

The episode will show an all-new tale that has never been seen before either in the anime or the manga: the story of what happened in the two years after the decisive battle at naval headquarters Marineford, up until the Straw Hat Pirates met again.

It will follow Luffy as he deals with the loss of his adopted older brother Ace, and enters into intense study of Haki abilities under Rayleigh, first mate of the Roger Pirates. However ambitious he is about learning, will Luffy be able to surmount his grief at the loss of his brother? This extra-long episode will bring to life Luffy’s comeback, filling in the blank of that two-year break.

This time Luffy will be fighting a new character sketched by creator Eiichiru Oda, a man with the name of Burndy World and the nickname ‘destroyer of worlds’ who broke out of level 6 at Impel Down prison and possesses the power of the MoaMoa fruit. In order to realize his great ambitions, he plans to capture Boa Hancock, one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea, with whom Luffy has a deep connection. How will Luffy protect her?

There will be many highlights to this special show including Luffy’s pursuit of knowledge and his struggles with Hancock. We’ll also see many side characters we don’t often get to see in the manga, such as Mihawk, Perona, Mr. 3, and Akainu. And it will also bring back a fresh look at the bonds between the two brothers in the climactic final battle. All in all it’s set to be a must-see for all ONE PIECE fans.

The episode will air in Japan on Fuji TV Premium on August 30 from 9 p.m. to 11.30 p.m.
