When is Hollywood going to make a movie where the entire Earth becomes a paradise filled with chirping little birdies, purring widdle puddy tats and bikini girls frolicking on beaches?

sarge: If it's paradise, they don't need bikinis.
2012 is going to be an awesome year around the world.

We're going to have Apocalypse 2 in 2012 when Barack Obama gets re-elected.

I saw 2012 and it has to be the WORST written disaster movie yet!
Watching the United States economy fall apart is a REAL disaster (especially since we did it without any outside help) - I can't wait until they come out with that movie - now there's a real disaster movie.

First Y2k, then H1N1! Next up, 2012...looking forward to two years of hysteria, at least in the West!

You can`t go see a moooovie without getting some crappy liberal message crammed down your throat these days.
If I wanted that, I would just go back to college.

It's too close to reality...nobody would go see it.

It is great if you keep watching the CGs and FORCE yourself to not listen to the dialogues (these ones are a real disaster). Well, what else to expect from the guy who ¨directed¨ Bill Pullman, the president in ¨Indepedence Day¨?

Another disaster movie...ugh! Japanese people are fatalistic by nature and the movie ought to be a blockbuster. Remember, the date : December 21, 2012 is the day to watch for it. Need to get all of our bonenkai's out of the way by then.

I believe that movie was called "The Real Cancun." The most realistic (and therefore the best) more ever made!
If "2012" is half as good as "The Day After Tomorrow" or "10,000 BC," then this may rival "Plan 9 From Outer Space" as the worst movie ever made.

I'm sorry, "The Real Cancun" was the best *movie *ever made.

2012...as long as it was, you'd think it was 2012 by the time you got out of theater.

According to this website, http://www.weird-websites.com/justweird/endofworld.htm, the next end of the world dates after 2012 are 2014 (Pope's declaration), 2028 (Eli Eshoh and Asteroid 1997 XF11), 2280 (Quran code), and 3797 (Nostradamus). This means we still have plenty of disaster movies to look forward to...if all goes well.

@Farmboy haha gotta love end of the world predictions. My favorite was this crazy cult a few years ago National Geographic did a special on. When it passed them by they acted like it still had happened and the world had changed or some rubbish, lol.

According to the Greek translation of the word, it means "lifting of the veil" or "revelation", which I guess some think will change the world we live in. The destruction of the world won't necessarily happen, but the world as we know it may cease to exist, bringing about a world of chirping little birdies, purring widdle puddy tats, etc., as Sarge suggested, or another scenario. The skies he limit, and until the unveiling, who knows what kind of world we will live in. I know, they'll unveil that cell phones actually do cause brain cancer, thus wiping out 90% of the population. (Just joking about that 'cause I don't have one. Yep, live in Japan and don't have a mobile phone, pretty incredible...)

The world doesn't need another disaster or terrorist movie...wake up Hollywood and bring us something watchable.

Another piece of Hollywood rubbish, anc scare-mongering. It seems to have been well made, though, with impressive special effects. However, like its predecessor "The Day After Tomorrow" it is all science fiction, and goodness knows, we get enough science fiction in the news every day with all the doom and gloom associated with the new "Global Warming" mythology/religion. I wonder if that great liar, Al Gore, had any input into this piece of SF? His own piece of science fiction is still doing the rounds, and people are being hoodwinked by it and the entire "Global Warming" crap.

You obviously must have not seen this movie that was both based on physics and storytelling from another another warped reality.

This movie is really being panned by a lot of people.I must admit to wanting to watch it to see the quality of the CG,but the intellectual instinct of wanting to see decent acting and a decent script is a tug-of-war...there isn't much else that screams out to be watched at the moment so I will probably do my yearly cinema visit.LOL
