nothing that requires wearing glasses will ever become mainstream. if they want it to work it will have to be like 3DS with no glasses.
poor marketing

It will get to that point eventually. I tried out a 3D TV and I was watching soccer on it, it really was amazing. The visual experience was great. However as stated, the glasses is a real setback at the moment. Not only did the TV come with only two pairs, to buy a pair itself is over $100.

As with much internet traffic and commerce, the elephant in the room is the adult entertainment market. Just think about it.
One chief complaint about 3D TV is that even if they get it right and the glasses are cheap and no queasiness, still, it is rather bizarre and unsocial for several people to sit in a room wearing goggles and not interacting.
But this doesn't apply to the solitary viewer of prawn. For the right adult 3D movie, the glasses might be the only thing some people wear.
