non regular workers are disposable. get treated like crap because company's put profit before humanity. employment law helps business operate, not employees that have to support their families. a terrible shambolic situation. hope those affected can quickly re-join the work force.

Japan govt/Hatoyama needs to make more jobs,by making more people work in other less developed nations.

Yes I agree and this means most of the Eikaiwa/ALT workers and slaves out there. They're on contracts but are lucky to have their jobs.

Non-regular workers are temporary workers who aren't expected to work for the company more than a few years although some have worked for the company way longer than some regular workers who won't lose their jobs. Sucks, huh?

Many of them are "outsiders", non Japanese who are given the boot first. No racism in in the "land of the rising sin".
