Abilitas Hospitality Co, an asset and property management company for hotels and Japanese-style inns, said it will strengthen its sales support in the MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, Conferences) business area, by pursuing cross-selling across all its group hotels (10 properties). The company aims to achieve a group-wide increase in MICE revenues of 21% by 2016, compared to fiscal 2012.
Abilitas Hospitality has been actively pursuing growth in the Meetings business since April 2009, including creating a dedicated website to promote meeting packages. From 2013, however, the firm will further intensify efforts in the MICE business – a high revenue-generating area – by expanding cross-selling activities. Sales will begin in earnest once a foundation for the MICE business has been established within the group, formats have been standardized, and a cross-selling system has been put in place.
