Abilitas Hospitality Co Ltd, an asset and property management company specializing in hotels, has been commissioned to provide asset management advisory services to Four Seasons Hotel Kyoto prior to and following the hotel's opening in 2016.

The agreement was reached with Xymax Real Estate Investment Advisors Corporation, which is responsible for the asset management of Four Seasons Hotel Kyoto and, like Abilitas Hospitality, is a member of the Xymax Group. The two sister companies have now begun to utilize their synergy in support of Four Seasons Hotel Kyoto, which is attracting much attention in Japan and overseas.

Four Seasons Hotel Kyoto will become the second Four Seasons Hotel in Japan following the opening of Four Seasons Hotel Tokyo at Marunouchi. The hotel will be developed and owned by Kyoto Higashiyama Hospitality Assets TMK, a subsidiary of Berjaya Corporation Bhd, a leading Malaysian conglomerate with diversified interest across various business sectors.

Abilitas Hospitality has begun supporting the project by providing a range of services backed by its international experience and specialized expertise in hotels and Japanese-style inns. The services, which include asset management reports and advice to support the pre-opening preparations and operation of the hotel, are being provided to Xymax Real Estate Investment Advisors, the asset manager for owner Kyoto Higashiyama Hospitality Assets TMK.

"Tourism resources and hotels in Japan are attracting global attention, especially after Tokyo's selection to host the 2020 Olympic Games," said Abilitas Hospitality CEO Fumihiro Sasaki. "We are honored to support the opening of Four Seasons Hotel Kyoto, which is certain to become a leading hotel both for Kyoto and Japan. Together with our ongoing Xymax Group project to support the Asahikawa Grand Hotel in Hokkaido, we look forward to leveraging our Group synergy to ensure Four Seasons Hotel Kyoto's successful opening and sustainable prosperity."
