Pricing things correctly? Most of what we pay is in tax! I for one refuse to "get used" to evil globalism, profiteering by evil and greedy gas companies, aided and abetted by evil governments who dont give a toss about the knock-on effects of the increase in fuel costs. The world is heading for disaster if this continues.
realist is right about the price. It isn't market forces, it's government forces, specifially, Fukuda who reinstated the 25 yen tax - that's 30 yen to you and me. Later this summer, say, a day before Obon, then the market forces will jack the price up another 10 to 15 yen.
I had to laugh at this 'average price' crap! I haven't seen a single gas station advertising lower than 158yen, and high octane is 168yen on average, with 170yen being the most expensive I saw at a Shell station.
Interesting to note that gasoline manufacturer's/suppliers, netted over 9 billion dollars in profits in the January to March period of this year.
