Does this average include bonus or before bonus?

How do families with single incomes manage in Japan on this? 4.6-5.0 mil is not a lot for an average family of 3-4 people.

Well, I'm the head of a family of four, and I get by on a lot less than this, and I don't get any bonus or prospect of a raise because I'm a foreigner.

These figures include overtime and bonus pay - I'd hate to think what the hourly wage works out to.

I'd say you'd need around 8 mil to comfortably support a family in Tokyo.

BFD ! Food and fuel prices have jumped a good 15%-20% ! Why is a measly 0.3% increase in salary "news" ? Maybe of the gloomy sort I guess ! Like we've said before, Japan is in deep doo doo ! The economy is a mess and Fukuda just bailed the sinking ship ! Can't wait for the chinese to move, take over, enslave the locals... who will gladly abide, and eventually lead Japan back to the promised land, how bizarre !
