Boeing should recall all or ANA should return all FIVE !

However much you test a plane, until it is used in regular service it is impossible to pick up on everything. I feel comfortable flying the 787 and did in fact a couple of weeks ago. if you look at the of any major plane launches over the last 20 years, you will find problems crop up almost immediately with the launch customer. It did with the first 777 variants, the A340-600, and of course the A380-800. All these planes are put through quite staggering stress tests to achieve certification. Relax..and enjoy.

USNinJapan2 will know how to fix the problem ..

JAL is lucky. ANA will do all the test work for them. JAL will have the polished product.

ANA want to be FIRST!! there you go when you be first, you be the tester as the same time.

You also get a highly discounted machine and a whole lot of free publicity. ANA got a bargain.

The interface/ boundary between plastics and metal will always be a problem. Airbus had the same issues with the rudder attachement to the body...

I am flying on one of those next week. Good bye everyone. Has been fun.

All planes have problems, at least Boeing is aggressively taking care of this. Their complex machines.

Tail section, huh? Hope they learned their lesson from 1985 disaster..
cactusJack
You know why Boeing uses sevens in their plane model numbers...because it is a "lucky" number.
Ben_Jackinoff
More like "Nightmareliners".

Here we go. Many critics were suspicicious of the plastic plane from the start.

I will?

It's NOT in the tail section, it's in what's called the aft fuselage area, the body of the plane forward of the tail section, and the repairs aren't that difficult to accomplish.

i'm giving Boeing a pass on this because the plane's construction is new enough to have unseen problems to be worked out down the road. i won't give a pss to Airbus and that mammoth waste known as the A380. Those things are falling apart on their own from their sheer mass.

Looks like the software deployment process. Called Banana-ware. Becomes ripe after delivery to the customers.
JeffLee
That's what happens when you outsource all the little bits and pieces to factories scattered around the world. The parts don't fit snugly because they've been made by such a diverse range of suppliers.

Better an issue dealt with proactively earlier rather than later, I guess............
Sarcasm321
Oh wait, suddenly American planes aren't perfect??? lol

Mabodofu - No worries, your 787 flight will take off and land safely.
USNinJapan2 - Get on it, ha ha!

Boeing still has no opposition that I feel safe on

Wow...talk about vague!
YuriOtani
Airbus has had more problems than Boeing. There were the 2 330's that fell from the sky.
