When Buffett speaks, people pay attention what he has to say. He is a streight shooter when it comes to investment.
Japan still needs to improve corporate transparency for global investors regardless.

Such scandals dont affect good businesses
But Olympus is (was?) a "good business." It's a pioneer of voice recorders and one of the world's top camera and optics manufacturers. And no mention of Japan's demographics and other problems? I wonder how straight he's shooting?

At least in the case of Olympus even with bad dead they actually managed to keep the company going for decades even though under false pretenses. Any other company would have just taken whatever money and assets they could and then filed for bankruptcy and run.
