Was surprised to read recently that Canada's biggest selling carmaker is....Chrysler.

This is the company that Mitt McBain wanted to let die costing the USA hundreds of thousands of jobs. Good thing Obama and the democrats helped out so that this company now is thriving.
If McBain does not make a buck about a company being shut down he does not care at all about it.

Err, no. Chrysler merged with FIAT and has since managed to pay back its TARP loans. Chrysler is out of the clutches of the government.
The other US success story is Ford, which never accepted government funds.
The company into which Obama has sunk trillions taxpayers money and which continues to be a disaster, is GE. (The same GE, by the way, which is outsourcing production to China on a large scale.)
I guess that was not mentioned in your party booklet of talking points, was it.

To be fair WilliB the trillions of dollars went to a variety of companys not just GE. Had it not, I suggest the global financial meltdown would have been much worse. Perhaps all GEs jobs may have ended up in China.
As an ex employee I think Chrysler's return to strength is a welcome sight, but the structural and workforce changes were long overdue. It's a shame Bob Eaton couldn't get on with it rather than selling out to Daimler Benz. Chryslers fall was a long time in the making.

Do you mean "GM"? If so, it's hardly a disaster. It's the top selling foreign carmaker, along with VW, in China, now the world's biggest auto market.
Anyway, didn't Canada kick in a big chunk of GM's bailout, like around 30-40 percent? In Canada, that was viewed as a wise move. But then, Canada doesn't have lots of anti-Obama wingnuts like the US does.
