Okay, who's happy now that the LDP is back in power?
— TEPCO and other nuclear power companies. The LDP had nuclear power facilities built all over Japan and declared them safe. Since the killer tsunami of 2011 we have found out how safe they are. But still Abe and the LDP want to restart nuclear facilities everywhere. This will make the TEPCO officials and other nuclear officials happy because it will mean they can once again start collecting their outlandish pay checks (with the LDP bunch getting their share, too, of course).
— UNITED STATES: The LDP is a "yes man" to U.S. demands. Minshuto was seen as a stonewall in numerous U.S. efforts to have Japan to certain things. For example, now that the LDP is back in power, Futenma Marine Corps Air Station on Okinawa will most certainly be moved up to the Marine complex near Nago. Despite protests by Okinawans, a runway will be placed across the military facility and aircraft will be flying over the beautiful Okinawan water in the adjacent area.
— TPP: Minshuto had its doubts with this touchy issue, but felt that talking about the program would be in the best interests of Japan. As the LDP follows U.S. demands, we'll probably see Japan doing more than talking about the TPP.
— LDP's empty pockets: Over the past three years while Minshuto was in power complaints of a lack of funds among LDP members were occasionally mentioned by the members themselves. Now that the LDP is once again at the controls, they can dip their greedy fingers in our hard-earned money and siphon off what they need in the form of taxes, under-the-table payments to construction companies for favors in various projects, etc. Thus LDP pockets will once again be filled and those guys will be happy once again.
And who's going to be unhappy? If things go as they did in the past under LDP rule ... for starters ... just look in the mirror ...

TPP is needed. To heck with the mini farm powers.
And a two hour day lights savings plan is needed for Tokyo.

Why even set that target? Japan's population is declining and the demographics are changing. Countries with that sort of growth are either rapidly developing, have growing populations, or have natural resources. I wouldn't expect that sort of growth without immigration, which isn't even remotely on the table.

No TPP isn't needed... but you can join the FTA.

you people do know that Japan is lying its rear off in terms of its economy, don't you? A country that produces that many goods can't still be in recession. Only a sheep would believe otherwise.
