Yes, they'll be called "Cheeps". The model names being bounced around are: Clap, Chit, and Clunk.

Yep they are closing all the car factories in Australia. So guess where we are going to be sourcing our cars. Jeeps were carp anyway

I'd like to express my appreciation to the JT staff for publishing the picture of the model in black wearing stilettos.

Jeep trucks were already knocked-off years ago by China's automakers Chery and BAIC.
Their versions of the Wrangler and Hurricane were the same for the exception of the quality and safety.

Who wants the real thing when you can buy a cheap knockoff deathtrap for a forth of the price?
Also, if you're in the market for a Hummer and don't want to pay the price and really don't give a heck about safety then tryout the Dongfeng EQ2050P. This baby is a near perfect copy of the real thing and it sells for 1/4th and 1/4th the safety.

Meanwhile, Toyota outsources to the US.

If there are any secrets involved in making Jeeps ... then the Chinese will surely get them. Hopefully the U.S. military Jeeps are different from those to be made in China ...

The military haven't (actively) used jeeps since the Humvee was introduced in 84'

@sensei, yes, I second that. To be honest, that's their best export.

American-made Jeeps are absolute garbage - anything the Chinese do with them will be an improvement. Give me a Toyota 4WD any day.

I test-drove a jeep a long time ago. Then, I bought a Land Cruiser. Best decision!
