Or maybe the causality just works in reverse. Companies that make more profits tend to be better run, and judging people based on their qualifications and not their sex is just one aspect of that.

This is UK report but when you read USA report on Google, etc, watch out number accuracy. In USA often 00 is added to numbers to praise. .

If this form of diversity works for Rohini Anand, Sodexo, and aromatherapist Emma Arkell's natural remedies for the skin and body range then kudos.....
No quotas I can stand with 65 other female associate partners from City of London financial institutions who have earned our livelihood by hard work and kicking chairs.from the alleged big boy brotherhood....

How did I know this article wasn't going to be about Japan I wonder?

Not saying this particular company is doing, nor am I saying that diversity in the workplace is in any way unwanted.
HOWEVER, any company that's big enough to have a "diversity department" AND operates in several companies can generally cook their books to show any profit / loss they want.
One sample does not make a study.

Apple CEO Tim Cook, who came out as gay last year, told PBS it was important to hire people who “complement you, because you want to build a puzzle, you don’t want to stack Chiclets up and have everyone be the same,”
Look Tim if I made the same utterances to my Directors they would think I had been on the glue, super strength, maybe you can get away with this perched on a bean bag at Apple.

Hi Reckless, Cheers I will go with "ensconced in a bean bag' too. Attended a Apple careers event way back, there was not a stick of traditional furniture in sight, never made it passed the bean bags and bouncy castles..... 'needed remediation, my mind was a confined space, adequacy insufficient'......I guess an important piece of my puzzle had fallen between the sofa.....had a 'good brain' though.

Boardroom quotas are a mistake, as is a mistake any other positive discrimination. In deed the consequences of positive discrimination is much more pernicious than meets the eye.
