Great, so we go out and buy stuff in anticipation of getting points worth real money at some indefinite point in the future, which we might possibly be able to exchange for as-yet undefined products/services, all based on a government program the budget for which has not yet even been approved.
Sounds like a scam to me.
But since I'm moving and have to hit Bic Camera this weekend for a new refrigerator, microwave, washing machine, and vacuum cleaner, I suppose the timing couldn't be better.

Eco-points for increased consumption has got to be one of the more oxymoronic things I've heard recently.
Instead of giving the taxes I pay to people who but flat screen TV's, why not invest this money where it can actually do some long term good. Programs for domestic food production or renewable energy industry projects?

So wait, if I bought a tv over Golden Week that would have gotten me points from this system, does that mean I am out of luck?
Depending on what the points will be redeemable for it may not even be worth the trouble looking into.

Why only eco-points for electrical appliances? Isn't that discrimination to other industries? Renovating or building with eco-friendly materials for example helps the environment more, so why do those industries walk out empty handed?

I've just been out and bought one of the eco-buster tellies. Thanks tax payers.
