Either people are getting poorer, population is declining, people are becoming more more frugal, or more health conscious.

Supermarkets sales drop for 12th straight year..bad weather due to global warming or whatever..just call them by new name Mini-markets!

And yet, as I read here a day or two ago, sales at convenience stores are way up. So I don
t think they are becoming more frugal here just lazier. It would appear people are spending more money on food if they are shopping at the convenience store. This doesnt make any sense in hard economic times.Samuraiiki at 10:33 AM JST - 23rd April
