So sad! Once Japan was on top of the world and now this?? The once mighty Japanese companies must beg Chinese companies for $$$$$$$!!!!!! For shame!!!

Simply a business decision though. Sanyo's white goods businesses were indeed rather far from the 'top of the world' in term of size & quality & should long be discarded in the frusta place. Strong lines of batteries etc are the only business sectors interested by Matsushita..

As for Japan "declining", do you people make up stuff as you go along? Selling a non-productive part of a business is common sense. If Japan is declining then you all should leave.
