Hino Motors, Marubeni set up sales unit in India
TOKYO —
Hino Motors Ltd and major trader Marubeni Corp said Tuesday they have established a joint auto sales company in Mumbai, India. The new company, Hino Motors Sales India Private Ltd, capitalized at some 490 million yen, is owned 65% by Hino Motors and the rest by Marubeni.
The two firms plan to sell trucks and buses in India to meet growing demand in the South Asian country. Sales will start in the middle of 2009 with the Hino 500 series, the Japanese automaker’s mainline models, they said.
