"will be replaced by Hiroaki Nakanishi, a vice president who first joined the company in 1970 "
Now that is a fresh start. The guy has only been climbing the corporate ladder there for 40 years.

At first look-
"Hitachi Ltd said Thursday it made a small profit last quarter after a massive loss a year earlier, thanks to cost cutting measures and lower restructuring charges."
Yay, yahoo, strike up the band ! Whoa up now;
"Hitachi has long struggled with a bloated work force and a complex corporate structure with a vast array of subsidiaries"
So in short they cut wages, fired, layed off, encuraged early retirement, froze hiring of staff and basically did everything that the Japanese government has been asking companys not to do ! Yippee !

Angelo - show me where someone can become the CEO of a company so huge as Hitachi in less than 20 years from joining as an apprentice?
