Where's Bass4Funk? We are going for 200+ posts this time. ;-)
Death by airbag. Again Japanese cars are on the chopping block. Time to play the Executioner's Song.
I know better than to buy a Japanese car. I love myself enough to protect myself.
As I always say, Japanese cars are FUBU - For Us, By Us. Haven't you guys noticed that the recalls are ALWAYS Global and NOT Domestic? They won't do this to themselves. If you want to survive a car accident, you had better buy American or Swedish.
The doors might be thicker, the frame might be heavier and stronger, you might not get that extra 5 kilometers per liter, but you won't die. You won't be killed or injured by the airbag.
I'll be at the Tokyo Motor Show this Sunday. Can't wait to make a few jokes about the airbags at the Honda pavilion. I wonder if he'll lie when I ask him about the airbags. Better get it on video.

Mitesh - their reputation should improve after the recall. A bad firm will deny everything and avoid the recall at all cost...

@ebisen - or do a quiet recall.......

Sillygirl, you cant do a quiet recall. You can issue a service action (deal with the problem at annual service) but not for safety critical parts. This is good news, its not that long ago that Japanese manufacturers were covering up recalls with service actions. Considering the seriousness of the issue any attempt at mitigating liability would be stomped.

Which company supplies the airbags for those models? Anyone know?

Does anyone else think this sounds like a complete lie... This world has gone mad, with millions of cars being recalled, trains derailing every other day, and planes falling out of the sky once a week.... anyone else think its very strange.
Just tell me which way the billion dollars flows now... and tell me how many people you think will actually bring a car that they need every day in.... 0.1% maybe...
No I think China needs some new factories, and the USA is paying for it....
Same as the Verisign scam where they pay some guy (Mark Shuttleworth) with a garage business in South Africa, 3 billion dollars... what he then does is jump on a plane and take it to London.... which then invests in China... and the Americans pay for it....
What I think we seeing is the Dollar to Euro conversion... rape the one to prop up the new one.... its all a damn lie. Damn people are as blind as bats....

Yikes. This is concerning. I really like Honda and I'm glad they are doing this recall but it makes me less likely to keep them as my go to company for a car.

This is very SCARY! You buy a car, say a HONDA, with a safe reputation, thinking that the AIRBAG is gonna** SAVE YOUR LIFE** and instead it can end up KILLING YOU??** WTF!!**!
