also during the meeting Senior vice-minister for trade Tadahiro Matsushita acknowledged the history between Japan and Darwin quote "During a certain period in the not-too-distant past, Japan caused tremendous damage and suffering to the people of many countries," he said. "Taking this opportunity, I would like to express my feelings of deep remorse and state my heartfelt apology."

WOW its amazing how easy its to get an apology from someone when you have what they so desperately need. LOL

The project is scheduled to go into production by the end of 2016.

This may be very good news for Japan in about 5-6 years to start to offset the loss of nuclear power. What to do in the interim for the offline nuclear reactors and the costs of importing ever more foreign oil in a complicated world is another thing.

There are a lot of LNG field projects in Australia and New Ginuea lately.

The funny thing about this news story is that most of the LNG fields out there have been build and are being built mostly by Japanese construction firms. The story's specific project will be made by Japan Gas Corporation (JGC), Chiyoda and Kellog-Brown-Root (KBR).
