How about the tariff on rice imported into Japan? Oh wait, that's different...

The effort to protect Japanese farmers by placing a high tariff on US only worked while the price of rice was reasonable to the consumer. Now with a global shortage of food supplis and increasing costs, suddenly the Japanese consumers are going to find out lower cost rice very tasty.

Liar, liar pants on fire! The actual price is very low compared to what the J-makers are declaring for pricing. It's a con that's been going on for years. I recall having to file a claim against people in the business for reporting that Mazda was being charged 19% duty on parts when in fact the duty was 4%. And to make it worse the extra 'amount' drawn from the company to 'pay' the fictious duty was being given to so-called APD's in gratitude for their hard work in setting up Mazda's operations in China.
