Japan takes #1 spot for most shipments from U.S.

SARASOTA, Fla —

MyUS.com, a leader in international package forwarding and shipping, has witnessed a huge surge in the Japanese market as it has overtaken Australia as the top shipping destination for MyUS.com customers. The recent record lows for the U.S. dollar to the yen, is most likely the catalyst for the drastic increase in shipping volume.

With American products being offered at lower cost and a strong interest in American goods and fashion, consumers from Japan are acquiring U.S. addresses with MyUS.com to have their items shipped direct to their door. Over the past few months, MyUS.com has seen a triple-digit increase in shipping volume from customers residing in Japan. The shipped items range from gaming and electronic products to household items, like vacuums to high-end apparel and jewelry brands, like Coach and Tiffany.

“MyUS.com has always had a strong customer base within Japan, however with this latest surge in buying and shipping in the U.S. we’ve witnessed a 250% growth year-over-year,” says John Wright, Vice President of Sales and Marketing of MyUS.com. “With a strong yen, many residents of Japan are finding local goods to be cost-prohibitive and therefore turning to the U.S. retailers. Over the years, our biggest markets have been Australia, Canada and many countries throughout the Middle East. Only over the past few months have we witnessed a tremendous increase in shipments from Japan making it our number one market now.”

I just looked at their site. The free plan does not seem to be very good. I have no need for a monthly plan, and besides I live a spartan life style.
