And the irony of it all is they're beating other manufacturers in their own turf when setting up factories abroad. Whatever you may think about a Honda, it'll outlast a domestic car twofold easily. I had the hardest time outgrowing my Accord because it just wouldn't die.

With this trend we will see a recovery of companies balance sheets, but the income of the average Japanese worker will not benefit as they need to compete more and more with cheaper labor cost in other countries.

Sounds like a positive trend, but what they don't mention here is that almost ALL of the automakers including Toyota had months of plant shutdowns due to a surplus of inventories leading up to that "record" December '09.

Moving factories abroad means japan getting less richer. Japan should get richer by having more factories in Japan.
Rest of asia growth is higher than japan. Time for japan,to make itself more rich,by having more factories in Japan.
Nikkei has fallen from 39K to 10K. More jobs in japan, means more growth for japan. There is reasons to make factories abroad, but a good balance for good must be striked by Japan industries, for better future japan/other nations.
