JTB, HSBC tie up in services for rich customers
TOKYO —
Leading Japanese travel agency JTB Corp and major British bank HSBC have tied up to provide services to wealthy customers in Japan.
Under the partnership, JTB will offer membership services that allow people having foreign currency deposits with HSBC to buy luxury products, including overseas trips, imported cars, paintings, furniture and real estate with currencies other than the yen. The two firms plan to start the services in April 2009.
Customers will be able to enjoy shopping without being concerned about foreign exchange fluctuations, according to the two companies.

I don't know if I would call HSBC a British bank. Granted that HQ moved to London in 1999/99 but most people still consider it Chinese or Scottish Chinese since it was founded in Hong Kong in 1865. I think the letters stand for HongKong Shanghai Banking Corporation. It is the world's biggest bank. It is also in the black unlike most banks today. It's the bow tie bank, at least I think it's symbol looks like a bow tie.

I wonder how many Britons actually know what HSBC (one of Britain's high street banks) stands for.

"rich customers"
That's what I aspire to be - a rich customer.
