Problems on 2012 models?
What kind of a car has problems in its first year of ownership?
What?? Knobs are falling off after 90 days of use.
It seems that this "reliability" study is basically a "new buyer's satisfaction with the interior" study.
Wouldn't it be more meaningful to conduct a survey of cars after maybe 5 years of ownership and include items like say perhaps the engine and drivetrain instead of just knobs and switches.
No shortage of knobs these days is there.

Plenty! I used to be a mechanic for Jaguar and Daimler. The customer would take delivery of his brand new Daimler on the Friday and would be back on the Monday with a list of faults. Admittedly, this was a few years back and cars have improved, but this was a luxury brand. I believe that European cars nowdays tend to have more problems overall, especially electrical and air conditioning.

Agreed, quality has gone down, not up in the last 20 years.
Late 80s, early 90s was the peak of automotive reliability.
These days there are so many silly gadgets and their using all these eco glues and compounds along with minimal insulation on wires that all the components are delicate.

A week ago, sales exec didn't think they were going to win back sales for Lexus quickly.

Funny that the guys inside are pessimists. They should use these kind of data.

No mention on the 5 consecutive recalls the chev cruze has had.Good to see japan's brands up where they belong in the ranking near the TOP.
