Mazda to raise Y170 bil to shore up finances

    Can't understand why Mazda is doing so poorly. It's had a string of hit models over the years, with great reviews, the Mazda3 a case in point.

    80% of what mazda makes is built in japan while toyota and nissan only produce 40 or 50% of their product here, so when mazda exports its final product it is losing money. They want to set up more factories in places like europe mexico south east asia etc to become profitable.

    Funny, Mazda was consistently profitable and didn't need to raise over JPY 100 billion when Ford had a stake and was basically running the show.

    Agree they make some really good cars but clearly the financial side of their business not so well run
