McDonald's Japan ups 2008 net profit estimate

McDonald’s Holdings Co said Wednesday that it has revised up its group net profit estimate for 2008 to 11.5 billion yen from 10 billion yen.
The company made the upward revision as it is set to receive 2 billion yen from Toys “R” Us-Japan Ltd to settle a lawsuit over the toy retailer’s unilateral termination of a contract that allows it to seek business management know-how from the Japanese unit of U.S. hamburger chain McDonald’s Corp.
McDonald’s Holdings will also book a special profit of 2.5 billion yen from its planned sale of Toys “R” Us-Japan shares to Toys “R” Us Inc in a tender offer by the U.S. toy retailer.
For the January-March first quarter, McDonald’s Holdings reported a consolidated net profit of 1,818 million yen, down 36.8% from a year before, due to increases in materials and marketing costs, and personnel expenses.
Sales increased 3.5% to 99,862 million yen thanks to the popularity of special menu items offered for a limited period and an increase in the number of outlets operating around the clock.

I enjoyed it. It is actual green tea flavor though so there is a bitterness to it, but that simply offsets the sweet icecream flavor all the more, IMO.
