McDonald's rides WBC promotion to highest sales ever
TOKYO —
McDonald’s Holdings Japan announced Tuesday that the company saw record sales hitting 2.64 billion yen on Sunday thanks to a World Baseball Classic (WBC) Championship commemorative sale held at the company’s restaurants.
As a sponsor of the WBC, McDonald’s held a special promotional sale last Saturday and Sunday at the majority of its locations. The sale, which featured discounts of up to 120 yen on all types of hamburgers, garnered a huge reaction, boosting sales numbers beyond the previous record of 2.55 billion yen, set in November of last year.
