I sure hope this government has a PLAN B to support the stock market.
What they've done to this point is obviously not nearly enough.
If they could just get people in Japan to spend a little more of their massive savings ...

Why support the stock market? It will find the bottom all by itself and as most savers in Japan have their money in low risk bank deposits, the average Koji is left with their savings.

The government must support the stock market - this is an imperative. The economy as a whole and the financial markets are completely connected. It's perverse, but ... if the markets collapse, the economy will also fail ... and take millions down with it, even those millions of people who have absolutely no direct involvement with financial securties.

Perhaps both should just forget about it since a lot of Japanese companies are not short of cash either? Is that possible?
Even if the link between the stock market can not be broken how impossible is it for the link between the Japanese stock market and wall street be broken?
Strange that this news is not more prominent and more people talking about it. Here we are in a record breaking stock market slump and it is not even top of the mornings' news-paper (mine anyway). Still hovering around 8600 I see.
