I just bought a 1999 Honda Vtec Prelude. It get HALF the mileage but is 3 times as fun.

Why do Japanese automakers give such weird names to their cars?

I've heard that they want them to sound "foreign"(= exotic), so they use the sounds of the letters of the alphabet that don't feature in Japanese (f,l,r,v).

Fuga (fugere) is Latin for "to flee". Latin is not weird.

I hate these hybrid vehicles. They are so dangerous because you cannot hear them coming and Japanese refuse to stop at stop signs or even look both directions. I have had some very close calls on my bike, and got into a hit and run a year or so back. TOMARANAI is the way they drive.

It's a nice car, and I almost bought a Fuga back in January, but opted for the much more fun and gas guzzling 350z instead! :-)

Fuga is also a derivative from an Italian word, and it is not Fugere.

Yeah, I was looking at the previous generation Fuga 450GT Sport package, but settled for a 370GT Skyline Coupe instead.
But Fuga's are damn nice, definitely giving BMW a run for their money. I wish they'd bring the 5.6 V8 to Japan.
