    somebody enlighten me,do you need permission from anyone to work a second Job?or companies in japan stipulates that you cnat have 2 jobs?

    it wouldn't surprise me if it isn't exactly legal for companies to say something like this, but they put it in the contracts anyway and the employees dutifully obey

    Never knew that moonlighting was legal grounds for termination if it does not interfere with their day job. Wonder what percentage would even admit they were already moonlighting prior to this announcement?

    I can't understand why Japanese companies don't allow "other" jobs, I go into a big stink at a previous company because I was selling some things on the internet in my spare time. I couldn't see a problem but they were all like "your not dedicated to the company" etc...

    I freely admit to having outside income streams and my kyoto sensei suggests that my wife get a job. I told him that wouldn't be happening. He should learn to mind his own business.

    so the company has to allow you to work, what slavery, if they want to work a second job they shouldnt need company permission.

    And hello kitty , i think your wife should get a job, this aint the 1960's women can earn money too. Im shure it would make her much happier.
