Nissan releases new Fairlady Z sports car
TOKYO —
Nissan Motor Corp on Monday released its new Fairlady Z sports car for the Japanese market. “Many people might think the release of Fairlady Z at this moment (economically difficult situation) is questionable. But we would like people to know how attractive cars are by introducing this model,” said Nissan COO Toshiyuki Shiga.
The price range is 3,622,500 to 4,462,500 yen, and eight different color variations are available. The company officially expects 500 units sales a month, but Shiga said: “Since fans of specialty cars like Fairlady Z have been waiting for its release, I think we can expect 1,000 sales a month.”

I'd love to have a Fairlady Z, but the name is just so silly. I much prefer the "ZX" name.

These are not good times in which to flaunt one's affluence.

Nissan just sticks with these names, although the newer models do not show any resemblance at all with the first creations: Skyline, Fairlady, Bluebird, Cedric, Gloria, Laurel, etc. Does nostalgia inspire the next - generation?

The performance is there but the recent round of Zs is nowhere near the technical powerhouse that the 90s generation was.
