Nissan unveils new compact car Cube
TOKYO —
Nissan Motor Corp on Wednesday unveiled its renewed compact car Cube. It will go on sale in Japan on Nov 26. The company also plans to release it in the U.S. and European markets in the spring and autumn of 2009 respectively.
In the Japanese market, Nissan is targeting consumers in their 20s to 30s through advertising campaigns in music and fashion media such as MTV. The price range will be 1,449,000 to 1,928,850 yen.
Nissan COO Toshiyuki Shiga said, “We would like to maintain our production line for compact cars in Japan which is still a high cost sector.” The company last week announced a decrease in car production in Japan to 72,000 units, including a cutback of about 2,000 temp staff, during the period between December and March in 2009.

I quite like the spaciousness inside the Cube, but have they made the seats any more comfortable, I wonder.

Prefer the Toyota BB, or the new Subaru Dex. Nissan seem to consistently make the ugliest cars in Japan.

Nissan must be in cahoots with Oldsmobile and Buick when it comes to car designs.
