I don't understand Japan, how does a deep bow and saying the words "I'm deeply sorry" and even squeezing a few tears out resolve you of all guilt?

I think this needs to be on the top 47 things foreigners find strange in Japan!

Getting tired of hearing the " we have caused worry and trouble and we apologize for that " kind of comments coming out of J companies with increasing frequency these days. Instead, how about apologizing for the actual offense commited , getting transparently to the bottom of things, properly punishing those responsible ( not giving them golden parachutes or 10% paycuts for 3 months or transfer them to other departments ) and putting solid rules in place ensuring the same thing doesn`t happen again and again. Aahh..the world of Japan Inc.

This is a white collar crime. No criminal investigation for this matter is beyond me. These Japanese shareholders are sending a wrong message to global investors. We will stay away from Japan's future. Good luck.
