a 44% revenue fall

having purchased part of Lehman Brothers following the US bank’s collapse in 2008.

Very concerned.

I was not too excited when Nomura dicided to buy part of Lehman. They bought a junk. IMHO, they did not do a good underwriting before making that decision. Nomura, you were used as a sucker. Too bad.

The experts have no idea, really. If you gamble most of the time, you empty your pockets (the house wins) Mr/Mrs average are shafted, thanks for the hard work....bye

Cricky: experts actually do know what they are doing, by definition. People are naive in thinking that a suit and an ivy league education means anything when trading the markets but that's why it is so great - you are judged only by what you do, not where you come from. Most of the real experts are independent traders (who you never hear about as they don't wear a suit) or people working for a few firms that actually manage to be profitable every year.

Of course I realize trading only accounts for a small portion of Nomura's business.
