TOKYO —
Japan’s six major nonlife insurers said Wednesday they have additionally returned to policyholders a total of about 17.6 billion yen in overcharged insurance premiums.
The revelation came as the top nonlife insurers—Millea Holdings Inc, Sompo Japan Insurance Inc, Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Group Holdings Inc, Aioi Insurance Co, Nipponkoa Insurance Co and Nissay Dowa General Insurance Co—released their earnings reports for fiscal 2007.
