    The camera and medical equipment maker said it now expected a net profit of 6 billion yen in the fiscal year to March,

    On sales of over 740 billion yen. That's a less than 1% profit margin. No wonder Japanese firms do not attract much foreign investment. Stockholders in the west would never except that level of profitability.
