Omron Healthcare Co said Friday that it has established a South Korean subsidiary, Omron Healthcare Korea Co Ltd, to expand business there.

With the population aging rapidly and both the living environment and dietary life changing, patients suffering from lifestyle-related diseases, particularly high blood pressure and diabetes, are increasing sharply in South Korea. There is a growing awareness of the importance of preventing lifestyle diseases as well as health management at home.

Omron Healthcare Korea will import and market medical devices for home and professional use, including blood pressure monitors and body composition monitors for homes as well as blood pressure monitors and arterial pulse wave monitors for hospitals. By listening to the voices of consumers and medical personnel in South Korea while carrying out marketing more closely attuned to the market, the company will further develop its products and markets and contribute to the prevention of lifestyle diseases there.
