Orders for Honda's Freed top 10,000 in 2 weeks
TOKYO —
Honda Motor Corp said Saturday that cumulative orders for the Freed, its new 1,500-c.c. minivan, reached 10,000 units two weeks after its release on May 30.
The brisk initial sales are 2.5-fold more than the model’s monthly sales target of 4,000 units. Honda said the Freed has won popularity thanks to its large interior, compact body size, and the high-quality designs of both its interior and exterior.

June 2008, Honda Freed, freed for market.
June 2008, Satoshi Nakamura, iranian hostage also, freed to get back home.
Do you believe in coincidence of the words, Freed ?

cool...the Freed does 46mpg, or 16.4 kilometres per litre (74.5 km/g).

so it's bigger on the inside than it is on the outside

That's impressive fuel economy. I've been happy with my wife's Mini which get about 36mpg

My calculations show about 40 mpg.
I checked out the car. It has no spare tire, but comes with a spray can which inflates the tire. Good idea.
I also checked out the Sienta. It gets 18 km/liter. The rear seats go under the middle seats. In the Freed, the rear seats fold up so they're still kind of in the way.
I didn't like the Sienta looks so much at first, but I'm trying due to its fuel economy advantage.
Which car is better looking: the Sienta or the Freed?

Forget to mention: the Sienta price was 1,681,000 yen versus about 2,100,000 for the Freed.
I think it's because Freed is "new" (Sienta has been around since 2003, I think) and you know how much that means to some people.

According to the Toyota and Honda websites the base models of the Sienta and Freed are only about 10,000 yen apart in price, so I'm not really sure where you got the above information.
Honda is marketing the Freed as more competition for the Isis and Lafesta than against the Sienta or Cube3. The Freed is slightly bigger than the Sienta and claims to offer a practical third row.
