Pasona to conduct job fair in Jakarta

Pasona will conduct a career event in Jakarta on Saturday, October 25, targeting Japanese SMEs operating in Indonesia to hire local students.

The event, titled JOB FAIR, will be conducted as part of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry’s 2014 SMEs Oversea High Level Personnel Training & Hiring Support Program, a project funded by METI and run by Pasona to support SMEs expand its oversea business.

As major Japanese expand their business overseas, SMEs are penetrating the global market as well which is creating a rise in hiring demand. However, SMEs lack communication with students in the region which in turn making it difficult to hire qualified local staff.

At JOB FAIR, companies will conduct seminars about their company at the booths. A panel discussion will also be held to provide an opportunity for companies to talk to students about qualities they look for upon hiring and positive aspects about working at Japanese SMEs.

Pasona has conducted similar job fairs in Vietnam and Thailand in which 800 students have participated. The event aims to support companies hire qualified local students. Also, Pasona is conducting classes on skills Japanese companies look for and about working for Japanese companies at 15 local universities in Vietnam, Indonesia and Thailand. The classes are conducted by employees working at Japanese companies.

Through this program, Pasona said it hopes to support Japanese companies expanding its global business to hire qualified local employees.
