That good on the part of Public Sector but how much will that help? hardly one or two percent of the total 85,000 jobless/homeless(so far).

As a gaijin from Australia, if the opportunity arose to take up one of those farming jobs, I'd jump at the chance. Great experience.... Gimme a shovel ;-)

you will probably find that the "farming" jobs are sitting in offices of the agricultural co-ops shuffling papers and having meetings. Actual farming is done by chinese "trainees" working for a pittance.

bakabaka... thanks for the heads up. The work is then no different to what i do currently! After being wedged in an office for so long, it would be great to get down n dirty!

I actually met an Australian guy who was on a farm exchange program in Hokkaido, at the time he was dressed as a milk carton for some festival. At least in Hokkaido must of the farming was done by Japanese guys and their Filipino wives.

eternityfor me actually you can buy a farm and house for a pittance and raise your own food... I do.... most farmers are part-time, working at other jobs. Round here the wives are Indonesian not Filipina.

bakabaka - Im actually back in Australia now... My wife is nihonjin. I think given the economic climatic, offers like in this article are an opportunity to expand an individual's overall experience. I think most of us know that worse is yet to come and we need to load ourselves up with as many skills as possible because who know's when you may need to call on one of those attributes.
Good jorb - sounds like he was an aussie alright... will do anything to earn a Yen in order to spend more time in Nihon. Good on him ;-)

This is a great move, regardless of whether it's too little too late.
I would love to work my own farm. I can't think of anything more rewarding.
I suspect Shiuu won't be happy when he reads this article!

Public & private sector needs more co-operation for jobless. Farming is an old traditional way. Pay may be low. It has more fun & freedom than manufacturing. Shiuu is a heartless perons who has no compassion for unemployed, homeless & disadvantaged.
