Would rather fly QANTAS than ANA at least with QANTAS they put the gear down before trying to land.

Besides Senator Nick Xenophon is nothing but an idiot, an act of parliament wont change things for Australian companies its the unions that cause most Australian businesses to head offshore.

Qantas is still the world's safest airline according to the airline industry. Singapore Airlines is close behind. But I have to agree the cabin crew seem to be a mixed bag. Some bright and friendly, some unhelpful and grumpy!

I will take a cute ANA stewardess any day over one from Qantas.

Maybe some of that is true - but they still don't seem to fall out of the sky like other airlines. Their safety is famous: No fatalities due to crashes yet - and QANTAS is the 2nd oldest commercial airline in the world. I think the concern is keeping this safety record - Xenophon and others are concerned that outsourcing into Asia could jeopardise safety.

Personally - QANTAS is too expensive for me - maybe outsourcing their base into cheaper Asia may make it affordable?
