Wow! The Japanese economy can not be that bad?? Or is it just cheaper and easier to exploit poor students from Asia trying to survive in Japan?

would think almost all of those "jobs" deal with their abilities in their native language thus work related to "home" countries... and the fact they can now communicate in Japanese as well.
most "business" level bilinguals(including Japanese) I know, have never had a problem getting work... and almost all jobs deal with work directed to their home countries, even when working in a Japanese company... makes sense.

A lot of Japanese companies expanding into China and India are after these guys.

Yeah Altria, I was going to say the same. Plus there's a general migration of the financial sector from Tokyo to Hong Kong and Singapore so non-Japanese Asian grads should be more in demand.

With all the Brazilian's leaving, Chinese are there to fill the gap. Wait until they start demanding higher wages because they have a clue about Japan.

11.000 doesn't sound much for a country which has 1.5 million foreigner.
I am confused: in these cases "foreigner" means only the people who born outside of the country, and came here to study? Or also includes the local Chinese, Korean etc people, too? Or those one do not get job?
By the way: it is a shame that 35% of them work as a translator.

I have a friend from Vietnam and the stories she tells me about her job is just heart broken.

There needs to be more info on this article - getting a job and getting a job you want are 2 different things....I imagine these jobs arent the most desirable.

Yes!!! good thing that foreingners are getting jobs in Japan. Those who are graduating from Japanese Universities are getting more experiences in their professional carrer, and it will help them to get better jobs in their hometown or even in Japan. At the same time Japanese Language students are getting temporary jobs that have low salary weight, but it is only a beggining. They will see the results of ther efforts later.

Lets see, in China, you make $300 - #400 a month, in Japan, you can make 4 times what you make in China on a low paying job. No wonder they found jobs so easily.

Yeah but in China living expenses aren't so high either. Perhaps the Japanese graduates have priced themselves out of the market?
