    he has asked and won agreement for help from technology giants NEC, Hitachi and Mitsubishi Electric, along with Renesas’s creditor banks.

    This is a key problem with the Japan Inc. model and why it will eventually make Japan almost uncompetitive in a global market. These companies/banks should be focusing their capital on R&D and investing in potential high growth companies and technologies, not in a struggling company because they own the stock. The vast amount of inter-holdings in Japan, why helped spurn the tremendous rise of post-war Japan, has no become a huge drag on its efficient allocation of capital.

    the problem is cost. renesas should move overseas!
